Described by one reviewer as "The best Feis bottling of the year", this marks the second festival edition from Mac-Talla to be released for the event. The 2023 expression is created from twenty-six exceptional, hand-picked casks of Islay malt, with the influence of PX Sherry bringing a rich, fruit sweetness, as well as structure and depth. As we've come to expect from the Mac Talla label, it's another tremendous, powerhouse whisky, in the vein of 'Elements of Islay Sherry Cask' and several indie Caol Ilas. Apart from the off-dry maltiness, peat reek and maritime blast, there's a follow-up of salted caramel dark chocolate and molasses cake threading through the pepper-laced finish. That's a really intense experience. Aroma: beautiful, sweet, smoky, fruity, very fresh, dark red Taste: wonderful sweet, pleasantly spicy, smoky whisky, with a warm slightly prickly finish.
