Mhoba American Oak Aged South African Rum (700ml)

Producing since 2015, Mhoba continues to be a genuine hands-on operation. Even the labels are designed and printed on site. Rum boffins describe the spirit as "funky" with similarities to certain 'extreme' Jamaican styles or Rhum Agricoles. The latter would be more accurate, as the rums here are created from fresh Nkomazi cane juice grown at the estate. Distillation takes place using pot stills created by founder, Robert Greaves. This expression is initially aged in large glass bottles that also hold pieces of American oak, cut and charcoal toasted at the distillery. The liquid is then transferred to former South African whisky casks for a second ageing process that compliments the spirit with woody notes of a different kind. 43% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
