Nankobai ume (plum) is the highest expression of the fruit, prized for its aroma and flavour. Centuries-old methods are employed in the making of this liqueur version. Plums are carefully harvested, cleaned and washed by hand, then macerated in a premium ginjo sake base. The result has earnt Matsuurachi a reputation as one of the best plum liqueurs in Japan. Light, mellow and refreshing, you'll find subtle confectionery notes of marzipan and toasted almond biscotti alongside the fruity bruised apple, kalamansi and tamarillo.
