First aged in virgin American oak, casks used here were then re-seasoned in-house with fresh blood orange peel and Port. No questions about the success of this experiment which sees a deft injection of dry, curacao-like flavours making for what feels like two whiskies in one: Following the initial peel rush, there are more distinct vanilla and cocoa notes, re-grouping as orange spice cake and bittersweet espresso dark chocolate in the finish.
