Sawanotsuru Koshujikomi Umeshu (720ml)
Hyogo, JAPAN
Sawanotsuru craft their Koshujikomi Umeshu plum wine with aged Junmai sake and Nanko ume plums, brewed in the traditional Kimoto style and matured for over three years. In the glass it shows a burnished copper hue, reflecting its age. Aromas of yellow plum and nectarine lead, supported by hints of nougat, cream frosting, and a touch of fresh red apple for lift. The palate is weighty and viscous, carrying a sense of gravitas from the extended ageing, with layers of red currant, ripe plum, and nectarine unfolding in impressive depth. Luxurious yet balanced, it is best served chilled in a rocks or brandy glass to release the aromatics, and would pair beautifully with grilled beef, hot pot, or even late alongside chocolate desserts.
