Kinglake Distillery The Wight Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml) - Limited Release

A genuine limited edition with an outturn of just 165 bottles, 'The Wight' was aged for five years, starting life in a freshly emptied 30-gallon x-Bourbon cask before finishing in a Port barrel. The sweetness and warmth of the bourbon cask arrives wrapped in the richness and depth of the Port cask — two very different influences coming together to make something far more indulgent than either alone. Two years was sufficient to extract just the right amount of sweetness from the American oak before a final stint in European wood. Specifically, a gorgeous French oak barrique that had previously held rich Port, re-coopered into a 100-litre cask for Kinglake by Murray River Coopers. Colour-wise, it appears to be one of the darker whiskies the distillery has released. Expect a flavour bomb! 53% Alc./Vol.
