The company was founded in 1615 and presently employs a mix of Yamada Nishiki and Special Grade A Aiyama rice. Their expressions have garnered a cult following and are highly sought after by aficionados.

Banshu Yamadanishiki is one of the best-selling sake in the Juyondai range. Formed using the middle part of the press noted for clarity, well-balanced aroma, and purity of flavour. Banshu is the old name of Harima Region in Hyogo, which is known for growing the best Yamadanishiki strain of rice. Where all Juyondai are noted for producing sake full of fruity flavours, here there are additional hints of herbs and spice notes.
