Jack Daniels 10 Year Old Batch 04 Tennessee Whiskey (700ml)
Introduced in 2021, it's taken almost four years for JD's first-ever official age statement to hit Aussie shores. Made from 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye, the fourth batch was released alongside a 12 year old, and new in 2025, a 14 year old version (at the time of writing, both are yet to arrive in Australia). The company has proofed the range according to the age statements, with the 10 year old being the lowest ABV whiskey and the 14 year old being the highest. Batch 4 lands at 48.5% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... Racy on the nose, with lively wood spice, cherries, strawberries, and candy corn—nicely fruited, accented by light tobacco and cedar. Smooth and mellow on the palate, with plenty of depth, spice, more cherries and red berries, and nicely balanced oak. A long, creamy finish of brown sugar, baking spice, and more cedar and oak. Great complexity but also a mellow sipper. 93 points - whiskyadvocate.com
While Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Batch 3 was more oak-forward, this year's batch delivers a nice balance of sweet and dry oak flavors. The nose delivers an aroma that is full of pleasing sweet scents that mingle really nicely together. The midpoint is punctuated by a creamy caramel sweetness that helps its buttery mouthfeel. As you dissect the flavors, more spiced and dry notes appear, which are punctuated in the finish. In Jack Daniel’s Aged Series in 2025, Batch 4 of Jack Daniel’s 10 Year delivers a balanced, flavorful sip. Compared to this year’s 12 year and 14 year versions, it delivers a slightly less in-your-face sip, but this can be chalked up to being the youngest and lowest proof of the three. Providing a balanced overall sip, fans of Jack Daniel’s will be pleased to see that even though the brand continues to release higher proof and higher aged whiskeys, the aged Jack Daniel’s that kicked off the trend 4 years ago continues to deliver. - breakingbourbon.com
