Isle of Jura Tastival 2016 Limited Edition Triple Sherry Finish Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A special release for the two day Jura Tastival in 2016. The whole was compiled from a special triple sherry assemblage: 19 year old Jura was seasoned for 5 years in an 11 year old Palomino Fino cask, a 14 year old was seasoned for 4 years in a 15 year old Oloroso Amoroso sherry cask, and a 15 year old was seasoned for 3 years in a 30 year old Oloroso Apostoles sherry cask. Also non chill-filtered and bottled at natural strength. Jim Murray described it as a sulphur bomb, but the team at Malt Advocate really enjoyed it.

Other reviews… The 2016 Fèis Ìle limited edition of Jura was triple finished in sherry casks.... The nose is soft and warming, with notes of candy, vanilla, and almonds against a sweet sherry background. The palate is rich and rounded with a significant sherry influence—dried fruits, notably raisins and prunes, new leather, and aniseed. Finally, slightly mouth-drying with prickly spices and more raisins. 51% Alc./Vol.
