An opportunity to secure a First Edition, as well as one of the highest rating Australian Whiskies from Jim Murray's 2019 Whisky Bible!

When we tasted the Devil's Distillery's barrel aged moonshine earlier this year, we knew it was going to be a whisky to look out for. The quality was confirmed by Jim Murray after John Jarvis sent him a pre-release sample. "It was a slightly higher abv whisky out of our flocking vessel due to time constraints." explains Jarvis. "At that point I hadn't decided on the perfect abv for it, and I'm kicking myself because I am very sure that I could have gotten an even higher score if I sent him a final sample!"

Our stocks are the last retail allocation of this truly small batch release that amounted to around 400 bottles. Mostly pre-sold from the distillery, we have a fraction of that on offer. New batches are in the pipeline, however first editions are always bright on investor's radars. A genuine collector's opportunity and a great new Australian whisky.

Tasting note: Matured in small x-bourbon American oak casks. Deep gold. Irish meets Bourbon on the nose; wonderfully pure with lifted scents of cocoa powder, vanilla, creme caramel, beeswax and fresh sawn American oak. Concentrated but beautifully controlled, the malt integrated with fresh oak and sweet spices. Hints of dried pear and Milky Way bar through the finish. Ends crisp, cleansing, finely tannic. High quality young whisky of remarkable poise. 48.8% Alc./vol.

Other reviews... So buttery! One of the creamiest noses of the year sees the rich barley and even richer caramels from the bourbon casks form a partnership made in heaven...just so salivating!... the astonishing creaminess of the delivery and mid-point dissipates only up to a point; mild chocolate fudge moves in... before the spices go into overdrive... A treat of a dram, I must say.
