Gordon & Macphail Balblair 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

One of a small number of indie Balblairs released by independent bottler, Gordon & Macphail. Expect fresh pear and hay aromas with flavours of pepper, milk chocolate and ripe banana.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside in the village of Edderton (formerly known as the "parish of the peats"), the distillery is named after the nearby Balblair Farm where it was originally built in 1790. Balblair moved to its present site in 1895. The buildings have changed little since then, the main characteristics being the pagoda roofed kiln, sadly no longer in operation, and the 70 foot high red brick chimney, both visible for miles around. Currently owned by Inverhouse, recent output has largely been focussed on 'Vintage' bottlings rather than age statements.
