Glengoyne 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Glengoyne uses only unpeated malted barley i.e. barley which is air dried rather than dried under a peat fire. The newly packaged twelve year old expression (as opposed to the 12 year old cask strength) is said to have a high proportion of Sherry casks involved in the maturation. Natural colour.
Other reviews... The nose has a curiously intimate feel, but the tasting experience is a wonderful surprise. 91.5 points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2025-26
2010 bottling tasted... Straw / gold colour with very pale straw hue. The nose reveals subtle notes of vanilla, clove and cinnamon with an apple / pear like fruitiness, then sweeter cereal notes. The warm palate entry reveals pear, biscuit and grain flavours. Excellent concentration and texture. Subtle yet lasting aftertaste of cereals and liquorice strap. A perfect session whisky and a little bit more besides! 43% Alc./Vol.
