Glenallachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - Batch 6

Already onto Batch 6, Glenallachie's latest cask strength release is finally here, this time matured in PX and Oloroso sherry casks, plus a smaller ratio of Rioja barriques and virgin oak casks. Ever since Batch #4 took out the top prize at the 2021 World Whisky Awards, this series has been increasingly difficult to obtain in any volume. It's now allocated globally. We tasted two earlier batches and the quality was consistently high, while maintaining the distillery's typically full bodied character. Expect the same again. 57.8% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producer... Nose: Lashings of heather honey, dark chocolate, and mocha, with almonds, cinnamon and orange peel. Palate: Waves of dark chocolate, treacle, mocha, heather honey and almonds, fused with cinnamon, marmalade and grapefruit.
