Now the oldest expression in the Speyside distillery's permanent collection, alongside its 10, 12, 15 and 18 Years Old single malts, the 21-year-old comes matured in a combo of oloroso sherry casks and bourbon barrels. Said to take inspiration from tropical plants that James Grant (aka The Major) discovered on his travels, the style is said to capture the distillery's tropical fruit character, bolstered by sweet toffee, raisins, vanilla and hearty baking spice. 46% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... While it may be a little overdue, The Glen Grant 21 Year Old is worth the wait. Bottled at 46% ABV without caramel coloring or chill filtration, it’s aged in sherry butts and hogsheads as well as ex-bourbon barrels. The sherry is pronounced both on the nose and the palate. But this isn’t your standard orange/raisin/rancio sherried malt. The fruitiness is lighter and livelier, with apple and cherry (from the garden?) mingling with coconut and melon notes. Light vanilla and burnt caramel show up to the party as well, and the finish is dry, with an appealing, moderate spicy kick. It’s quite distinct from the 12-year-old, with a denser, more buttery mouthfeel, and more concentrated and intense flavors. It’s distinct from the 15 and 18-year-old expressions, for that matter... it’s not cheap, but what 21 year old single malt is nowadays? - forbes.com
