Gabriel Boudier Suro Elderflower Liqueur (700ml)

With packaging inspired by the Parisian Art Deco movement, Gabriel Boudier have launched a new brand to tap into demand for premium low-alcohol specialties. 'Sureau' is elderflower in French. Its floral and often fruity flavour seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it affair. If you're one of the lovers, this is reported to be a new high point for the category, with nearly a thousand wild blossoms going into the making of every bottle. Elderflowers are hand-harvested at the peak of spring-time bloom and gently macerated for five weeks to coax out their delicate aromatics. They're then blended with a lemongrass and blackcurrant bud distillate before the whole is carefully balanced with beet sugar to reveal the finest possible expression of the flower. The resulting liqueur opens with fresh white blossoms, pear and grapefruit zest, then unfolds into a soft floral palate with hints of lemongrass and honeysuckle. Bright and elegant, but ever syrupy!
