Just arrived in Australia is this limited production Fortaleza matured in three different casks. The distillery team started with the brand’s still strength double copper pot distilled blanco, then aged it in French & American oak barrels, as well as beer casks. According to Fortaleza, the used beer barrels brought a slightly sour, cider-like aroma and effervescent quality to the texture. The French oak liquid resulted in heavier aromas of vanilla and white chocolate, while the standard x Bourbon barrels added slight wood and vanilla notes while letting the cooked agave character shine. 7050 bottles (at close to still strength) are on offer worldwide. 46% Alc./Vol.
