Fall 1995 Old Forester 8 Year Old Birthday Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

Birthday Bourbon celebrates the birthday of George Garvin Brown, the founder of Brown-Forman and the current owners of the Old Forester brand. Sought after for its rich tapestry of flavours, the whiskey's profile is known to run through Summer fruits, buttercream, sugar cookies and apricots, with a palate that transitions to leather and stout oak, and a finish characterized by toasted almond and walnuts. However, unlike the standard Old Forester bottlings which are a blend of whiskeys from several different years, Birthday Bourbon is a vintage-dated release. Hence, each vintage is slightly different. This now 'antique' bottling was aged from the Fall of 1995 until 2004. Of other bottlings in this series, Jim Murray has commented, "It is one of the most rye-studded stars in the Bourbon firmament and wholly in keeping with the fabulous quality for which this brand has now become a byword."  47% Alc./Vol.
