Elixir Distillers The Macbeth Collection Soldier Benrinnes 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Launched in early 2023, limited bottlings of the Macbeth whisky collection are being revealed over five years, each featuring characters from the play. Benrinnes has been chosen by Elixir's Oliver Chilton to represent this expression, named 'Soldier' (part of the household series). The distillery uses a traditional worm tub condenser to produce a full-bodied spirit. This bottling was matured in refill sherry butts and was summed up by one taster as "A beautiful, very well-balanced sherry. A gentle attack that opens with finesse and spicy notes. Notes from the bottlers... Ever visible, as you travel around Speyside, is Ben Rinnes. At its base, on the north side of the mountain, is the workhorse distillery of the same name. The spirit produced there, using traditional worm tub condensers, is sturdy and full. For the Soldier this powerful spirit has been matured in refill sherry butts, accentuating the meaty, weighty character of the make and adding layers of currants and dried oregano.
