For this super premium bottling, Dictador blur the lines between spirits categories, initially marrying two single casks of sugar cane juice distillate from 1976 and 1978, followed by a finishing in Sherry casks. The blend was then shipped to Hardy in Cognac, France where the rum was further blended and finished by Mikeal Bouilly. The Cellar Master used a Chauffe légère 350 liter oak cask from 1954 for the process which lasted approximately seven months. Due to the taste profile it was labelled as ÉTÉ which means 'Summer'. Fast sold out at the distillery, the final rum is between 39-41 years old with just 360 bottles on offer world wide. Comes beautifully presented.

Notes from the producers... Nose: Immediate vanilla, fudge and butterscotch, but a character reminiscent of a great Cognac as well with some dried figs and apricots, then pencil shavings and hints of damp earth. Very complex. Palate: This heady tipple coats the palate with an impressive array of flavonoids including an overlay of nutmeg on milk chocolate, toffee, sea-salt caramel and a beautiful softness without the sweetness, a great marriage. There is a rise on the mid-palate before it fades slowly into a minute-long supple and silky finish that is pierced only by flashes of oak, pure rum character and raisins. 41.1% Alc./Vol.
