Tasting note: Brilliant, clear appearance. An intriguing opening sniff includes black olive and smoked meat, followed by hints of lanolin, vinyl and barbeque char. Second pass finds sweeter suggestions of grilled pineapple, candlewax and herbal notes like tarragon, sage and sweet oregano. Third inspection is more mango like. Terrific complexity. Entry is soft and unusually textural; mid palate features smokey, dill pickle and brine flavours. Finish is waxy, firm but well balanced. Fades with a sweet afterglow of beeswax and warming spice with good staying power. 45% Alc./Vol.
