1989 Dalwhinnie 25 Year Old (Special Release 2015) Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Described by Jim Murray as "One of the most complete mainland malts of them all", Dalwhinnie's house style is typified by seductive aromatics and honeyed sweetness. The 2015 special release is exemplary, with the added concentration that comes at cask strength making for one of the best Dalwhinnies we've ever tasted. Distilled 1989 and matured in refill American oak hogsheads with approximately 6,000 bottles available worldwide.

Tasting note: Bright gold. Stunningly pure, floral bouquet offers honey drizzled malt, ripe pear and dustings of coconut. Several minutes settles the aroma a notch and highlights pristine, fruity malt plus hints of orange zest. Medium bodied with a honey / weetbix / dried coconut amalgam. Love the mouthfeel here. Finishes medium long, biscuity, gently spiced with delicate pear fruitiness lingering. Fabulous purity. This is quite sublime on the nose. 48.8% Alc./Vol.
