Clase Azul San Luis Potosí Mezcal (750ml)
Please note: due to the matte textured finish on these decanters, they are sensitive to touch and may show minor scuff marks. This is unavoidable. The producers recommend rinsing them under running water to maintain their finish. Avoid using rags or paper products to clean the decanter.
Once again, a different region and a different agave feature in another Clas Azul luxury bottling. On this occasion, the spirit hails from the state of San Luis Potosí and is made using Agave Salmiana (aka the “green agave”), grown at elevations of around 6,500 feet. Style-wise, it's said to sit between the Durango and Guerrero releases. The handmade decanter employs a technique of coloured yarn appliqué, the cap representing a desert landscape overflown by bright red finches. Recommended food pairings include whey cheese, prawns or white fish, lychee, green olives, pineapple or Bosc pears. 43% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... Tried numerous times over the course of the last year. Each time it becomes more and more exotic. Sharp distinct flavors…a treat each time. - mezcalreviews.com
Notes from the producers... Aroma: Cooked agave, caramel, green chile, sweet fruit and freshly cut grass with subtle aromas of wildflowers. Palate: Herbal front with hints of caramel, lime zest and clove, with a mineral and spiced aftertaste.
