A Benrinnes that develops beyond oak-driven notes after 3-4 minutes in the glass and grows on you. Beefy, spicy and mouth-filling with just the right amount of honey drizzled over the toasted cereals to add sufficient sweetness, the re-fill butt means the sherry is hardly overdone. Notes from the bottlers... Nose: soft waxy fruits (strawberry laces, cherry chapstick), earth and dried honey, buttered toast and little savoury notes in the background. Palate: classically sherried notes of dark chocolate and orange, then develops through more red fruits to a salty and savoury finish.
