Chartreuse Le Genepi Intense des Peres Chartreux Liqueur (700ml)

Génépi (also known as Mugwort), is a generic term used by the inhabitants of the French Alps to describe several kinds of aromatic plants native to the region. For the local mountaineers, it's a tradition to harvest the flowers in August and macerate them in alcohol. Chartreuse produce two variations of Genepi liqueur, although, so far as we can tell, the difference between them can only be surmised by the name. This version is subtitled "Intense", the other is simply called "Traditional". Both weigh in at 40% ABV. It's assumed that 'Intense' includes extra botanicals in the mix, resulting in a stronger aroma and flavour which is said to be reminiscent of "...garden mint, herbs, vanilla, bitter orange peel and flowers".
