Benriach Quarter Casks Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

This is the unpeated variant of a similarly labelled whisky, the latter having received solid reviews from several writers, so expect a repeat here, less the smokey overlay. As the label states, quarter casks are essentially smaller casks resulting in a faster and more intense maturation. 46% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... Aromas of Candied citrus peel and caramelized green pears with a distant hint of eucalyptus. Black vanilla pods and fresh white pepper add a warm contrast to the rich oak nose. On the palate, flavours of crisp lemon zest are present, with sweet oak spice with a dusting of icing sugar. Ripe pear and honeyed apricots combine with freshly stewed barley, adding fantastic depth to the long palate.
