Tasting note: A marriage of high rye Bourbons ranging in age from 9 to 15 years old from Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, this powerful, deeply coloured middle-aged whiskey offers aromas of buttered corn, maple syrup, vanilla bean and Toblerone bar framed by fresh sawn oak, whiffs of white pepper and apple mint. Impressive balance; Full bodied but not at all aggressively spicy or hot; Dark chocolate and vanilla mingle alongside ripe peach and plum all the way through to the long, creamy finish. Wild herbs, dried apricots, and red fruits punctuate the nose, while the palate is smooth but complex, offering spice and refined sweetness, along with notes of tobacco leaf, graphite, semi-sweet chocolate, and dried red fruit. The finish is lengthy, led by dark berry flavors and followed by undernotes of chocolate, toasted almonds, and baking spice.
