Backwoods Special Reserve Series Chardonnay Cask Expression Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)

Backwoods has done it again, with their Chardonnay Cask matured single malt awarded the Best Australian Single Malt Whisky Trophy at the 2025 Australian International Spirits Awards (AISA). It's the second time one of their whiskies has taken out this top honour, with the White Oak Expression winning the same trophy in 2022. Matured for five years in premium Adelaide Hills Chardonnay barrels, the outturn was limited to 300 bottles at 48% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producers...  Expect notes of orange oil, mango and pineapple, layered over a soft malt backbone and delicate floral character. The Chardonnay cask contributes freshness and vibrancy, creating a whisky that is expressive, refined and unmistakably Australian.
