Founded in 2017 by Bree and Leigh Attwood, Backwoods has gained recognition for its innovative, small-batch ryes and single malts, including winning best Australian Rye at the World Whiskies Awards. They frequently experiment with different casks, including Shiraz, Stout and now Maple syrup! Limited to just 260 bottles, this is a whisky that won’t come around again. Four years in a Maple Syrup cask has created layers of rich sweetness balanced with earthy rye spice. Expect notes like browned butter, stewed green apples, cinnamon and nutmeg, alongside toasted walnuts, almonds and buttery biscuits.
