Artemis Distilled Australian Gin (700ml)

A gin made in collaboration with Collingwood based "The Craft & Co" and the brainchild of liquor industry veteran, Sebastian Reaburn and his scientist partner, Dervilla McGowan. Distilled in small batches in a 180L hand-beaten Carl copper pot still using a traditional one shot method, all botanicals are macerated then distilled in tiny batches with each batch taking several days of maceration and two days to distil.

Tasting note: Crystal clear. Highly perfumed, medium fresh bouquet evokes scents of dried orange peel, woody juniper berry and dried coriander in the initial pass. Further air contact adds hints of liquorice root, black pepper and crushed eucalyptus leaf. Well rounded, semi-sweet entry is also moderately oily. Mid palate is drier, spiced-up, spirity and intense with flavours of juniper, curry leaf, coriander seed and a chalky, delicate dried peel / herb aftertaste that shows impressive persistence.
