Arette 100% Agave Blanco Tequila (750ml)
Founded in the 1900s by the Orendain family and run by Eduardo and Jaime Orendain since 1976, Arette was the name of the horse that under Humberto Mariles won one bronze and two Gold Olympic medals in jumping. The brand was introduced in 1986 to commemorate this event, which at the time of writing were the only Gold medals for Mexico in the discipline. The Orendain brothers have always prioritised quality over quantity—they follow their grandfather’s footsteps by preserving the original artisanal practices. All their tequilas are made from 100% estate grown agaves. The Blanco is rested in steel tanks for six months and reveals a lifted bouquet that's sweet, sappy and briney in the opening stages evolving suggestions of grilled capsicum, pineapple and white pepper. Light to medium-weight and softly textured with an attractive juicy agave / wax / pickle profile and a gentle fade. Pure and accessible. 38% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews... This blanco has a delectably sweet fragrance—honeyed agave accented by a slight floral note. On the palate, this is a fiery number, although the alcohol heat fades into a mellow, sweet agave finish with touches of vanilla and white flowers. 87 points - winenenthusiast.com
