2025 Sentio Beechworth Chardonnay
A powerful, gorgeously fleshed Beechworth Chardonnay that’s a masterclass in refinement and texture.
Chris Catlow established Sentio wines in Beechworth in 2013 after seven vintages on the Mornington Peninsula with Kooyong Estate, Portsea Estate and Paringa Estate. Sandro Mosele was one of a handful of mentors driving Chris Catlow in his early years. He has also worked with Sorrenberg and completed 5 vintages at Benjamin Leroux.
Sourced from two vineyards planted in the 1990’s with fermentation and aging taking place in a combination of large format oak and barriques some of which were new.
Brilliant pale straw colour with flecks of green to the outskirts and a watery hue. Alluring scents of white peach, nectarine and dried honey are interwoven with biscuity nougat, cashew, faint crème brulee and spice. Rich, creamy textured and beautifully layered, the palate is engulfed with concentrated white peach, nectarine and dried honey flavours. Notions of biscuity nougat, spicy cashew, crème brulee and traces of gun flint lend further sophistication. Outstanding power with a long gorgeously fleshed finish. A masterclass in refinement and texture.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
