The 2025 Petit-Village comes from the widest part of the "triangle" of vineyards and is matured in 45% new oak for 16 months, including 20% in demi-muids. It is a little reticent at first, opening with a mixture of blackberry and raspberry fruit, hints of pencil-box and light orange-rind scents. It takes a few swirls of the glass to get going, but it is nicely defined. The palate is well balanced, with pliant and supple tannins, fine acidity, quite linear in style and maybe just missing the precision of the very top Pomerols on the finish. But I appreciate this style of Petit-Village—less rustic and more precise than vintages a decade ago, perhaps starting to fully articulate its terroir. One to watch. Drink 2031-2052.

The 2025 Petit-Village is hugely promising. The two Cabernets are especially prominent in this year’s blend. Strong savory overtones, graphite, new leather, licorice, dried herbs and chocolate convey serious intensity. There's plenty of the 2025 vintage's concentration, but also enough fruit to balance things out. I am looking forward to seeing how this develops with élevage. Drink 2033-2050.

A firm and silky second wine of Petit-Village with a medium body, silky and lightly chewy tannins and a bright finish. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon.

An ultra-classic Pomerol, the 2025 Château Petit-Village comes from gravelly clay soils and is based on 60% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe black cherries, graphite, chocolaty herbs, and spice all define the aromatics, and on the palate, it's medium to full-bodied and balanced, with ripe tannins and clean, perfectly integrated acidity. Another beautiful effort from this château that merits serious attention today.

Dark heady aromatics, really floral and black fruited with a softly spiced edge. Juicy, creamy, round, filling and fresh. This has a subtle charm from the off, not shouting – it’s a little subdued overall but I do like the texture. A touch grippy with nice structure, soft acidity and pure blue fruit. A little shy and toasted right now with liquorice and cola giving some tightness but it's long with some acidity underneath. A wine to wait for – grippy, stony, textured and gravelly. Record Cabernet percentage in the blend. Average vine age 53-54 years. 3.65pH. A yield of 16hl/ha. Drink 2033-2044.
