Dark red in colour with black toned edges and a red to dark red tinged hue. Nosing delivers a wonderfully fragrant bouquet of violet, red to dark cherry, strawberry and more subtle anise scents. Forest floor, clove, brambly cedar and spice notes are also apparent. Elegant and supple, delicious red to dark cherry, strawberry, rhubarb and anise flavours flow across the palate with impressive power and intensity. A single-vineyard wine planted with MV6 and Abel clones in the late '90s; 25% whole bunches. A bright, medium crimson. Whereas the '24 was quite restrained, this is beautifully fragrant from the get-go, with its bouquet of red and black fruits, bramble and lifted florals. The palate is gently mouth-filling with silky tannins that make it a pleasure to drink now but will also ensure it continues to become more complex over the next five to seven years. Drink by 2032.
