Watervale in the Clare Valley is home to some of Australia’s best’s Rieslings. It’s here that Ben Riggs sources fruit from the Brysky vineyards to produce this zesty lemon lime filled Riesling.
Brilliant water like core with green tinted edges. Lemon and lime zest aromas burst out of the glass pursued by some green apple, chalky talc and steely mineral notes. Zippy lemon and lime fruits race across the palate with impressive intensity. Green apple, wet steel and a chalky minerality extend across the back half. Crisp acidity with a long driving finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Here’s a wine that expresses all that we love about this region which has produced consistently some of the finest Rieslings we make in this country. This one’s quite a delicate wine, and yet there’s an intensity that opens on the nose with a limey, zesty, floral note, and then catapults into the palate, which is finely held with a delicate acidity supporting the lovely crisp fruit characters. It has a powdery, tense feel on the palate, and yet there is fruit sweetness. Drink 2025-2035.

From a warm and dry vintage when the balance of ripe flavour and natural grape acidity was a critical decision point come harvest. This has got it bang on with a delicate feel – aromas in a familiar yellow and green citrus fruit and blossom mode, the palate more towards lime flesh with on the mark, get set tanginess supportive rather than dominating, offering a fine pith finishing texture. A lovely Clare Riesling with all its elements clear and harmonious.
