2025 Chateau Malartic Lagraviere Pre-Arrival Offer
Other Reviews...
Introverted and shy at this stage, the 2025 Malartic Lagravière reveals aromas of spice, lead pencil and dark berries. Medium- to full-bodied, structured and somewhat lean, it shows a firm profile and concludes with a spicy, lead pencil–inflected finish.

Yohan Castaing - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2025 Malartic Lagravière is a dark, sumptuous beauty. Black cherry, menthol, licorice, dried herbs, chocolate and cloves convey virile, almost somber, intensity. Muscular tannins add to that impression. The 2025 is going to need time to be at its most expressive, but it has a ton of potential. Tasted three times. Drink 2033-2050.

The quality of the tannins shows through nicely, with black currants, orange peel, crushed stones and a hint of fresh herbs. It's medium-bodied with a creamy texture and lots of polish. Long, complete and succulent, with a touch of salt. A blend of 57.5% cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot, 3% petit verdot and 0.5% cabernet franc.

Bright cassis, graphite, candied violets, and exotic flower nuances all emerge from the 2025 Château Malartic-Lagravière, which checks in as a blend of 57.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 0.5% Cabernet Franc, all of which is being raised in 50% new French oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, focused mouthfeel, fine, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautiful, layered, pretty Pessac-Léognan with remarkable charm and character.

Round and ripe aromas of blackcurrants and bramble fruit on the nose. Supple and juicy but smooth and velvety too – almost cream with a soft powdery aspect to the tannins and a vein of blueberry acidity going from start too finish which keeps this quite linear. A nice combination of structure and accessibility. Well balanced, mouthwatering with a crisp, juicy and extremely fresh aspect almost with an iodine, oyster shell salinity which lingers. Lovely. Delicate and long. Very good. A yield of 38hl/ha. 0.5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Drink 2030-2045.
