2025 Chateau Le Gay Pre-Arrival Offer
Planted to 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, Chateau Le Gay is on a roll over recent vintages. Since 2005 the wines have started to reach the peaks they showed with legendary vintages from the 1940’s and 1950’s culminating with the stunning pair of 2015 and 2016.
Other Reviews...
The 2025 Le Gay is classy, elegant and polished. The purity of the fruit is just remarkable. I also sense a lighter hand with regards to extraction and oak, which really helps convey more Pomerol character while still exalting fruit. This is a sublime Le Gay. Yields were a minuscule 19 hectoliters per hectare. The 2025 underwent 12 days of cold soak followed by alcoholic fermentation in barrel, using indigenous yeast developed at the château, for about 15 days. Floral overtones perfume the finish. This is sublime stuff. Tasted two times. Drink 2033-2055.

A tight and polished red with delicacy and finesse I have not seen often. It’s medium-bodied with freshness and brightness. Fine tannins.

Cassis, exotic red and blue fruits, spring flowers, graphite, and some chocolaty nuances all emerge from the 2025 Château Le Gay, a beautiful Pomerol based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc that will spend 14 months in new barrels. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, graceful mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It might be one of the finest vintages of this cuvée I've tasted, so hats off to the team here.

Aromatic and pure, this has much less obvious oak than usual with a focus on the purity of the blackcurrant and plum fruit. Excellent elegance and poise – still muscular with cedar, tobacco and liquorice elements but the fruit really shines. Plenty of push with a grippy finish. Strong but yummy. Drink 2033-2043.
