2024 Vasse Felix Filius Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Intensely flavoured and nicely shaped with a dry, refreshing finish.
Brilliant pale straw colour with green highlighted edges and a watery hue. Herbaceous grassy top notes overlay aromas of gooseberry, citrus, subtle asparagus and flinty minerals. Showing good intensity and shape, ripe gooseberry, lime and guava fruits meld into a delicate herbaceous grassy and mineral infused back drop. Crisp acidity with a dry, refreshing finish of ample length.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews….
This tier, as in Filius and the blend, is standing tall of late and it’s pleasing to see, or rather, taste. If anything, this is more elegant and restrained, a balance of citrus, white stone fruit and tropical fruit, a flutter of fresh herbs but texture and a fine acidity lead. The palate lingers, it’s a touch savoury and moreish. Good drinking here folks. Drink by 2030.
