2024 Serge Dagueneau & Filles Pouilly Fume Tradition
A savory Pouilly Fume that has a river stone like feel and a delicate smoky minerality to it.
This is the main cuvée at this estate, coming from a number of different parcels in the village of Saint Andelain close to the Loire, all planted on Kimmeridgian marl, the Terres Blanches soil that makes these wines so distinctive. 100% Sauvignon Blanc vinified in stainless steel and aged on fine lees.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a green tinged outskirts and watery hue. Scents of herbaceous gooseberries mix with some lime, green apple, subtle fresh herb and wet slate notes. Greeting the palate are mouth filling guava, lime and green apple fruits with fresh herbs, wet slate and a delicate smoky minerality the undercard. Crisp acidity with a river stone like feel to the long savoury finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
