2024 Jane Eyre Pinot Noir
A wonderfully fresh, pure and powerful Pinot that has a long moreish red fruited finish.
Sourced from vines with an average age of 30 years old with 20% whole bunch inclusion and maturation taking place in French oak puncheons for a period of 10 months.
Semi translucent bright red to dark red colour with black shaded edges and a vibrant crimson red tinged hue. A bouquet of red cherries, violets, strawberries and subtle anise engulfs the nostrils with fresh herb, delicate forest floor and spicy cedar notes also evident. The uber delicious palate is layered with ripe red cherry, strawberry and red liquorice fruits which are both expansive and supple in their flow. Infusions of fresh herbs, forest floor and spicy cedar extend across the back half. Wonderfully fresh, pure and powerful it has velvety tannins and a long moreish red fruited finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
From three sites in the north; this was fermented with native yeasts, then aged in French puncheons for 10 months. The Jane Eyre signature of fragrance and clarity is here, wedded with the intensity that Tasmanian pinot can often yield. Dark fruits are joined with the red, with black and red cherries, redcurrant, rosy-pink florals, some warming spices, turned earth and sweetly fresh forest floor note that will no doubt build intriguingly with tertiary development. It’s a wine of poise and detail, the palate supple, textural and effortless. Drink by 2034.
