2024 Giant Steps Chardonnay

A mid weighted, beautifully proportioned Yarra Valley Chardonnay.

Brilliant pale straw colour with glistening green tinged edges and a watery hue. Elevated pear and nectarine aromas are interwoven with dried honey, biscuity oak, nougat and subtle gun flint notes. Mid weighted with a rich, gently creamy feel, the palate is decorated with ripe nectarine, pear and dried honey flavours. Biscuity oak, spicy nougat and traces of gun flint the undercard. Beautifully proportioned, it finishes long and refined.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews…..
An even split of upper and lower Yarra fruit; both estate grown and from growers. Less mlf than last year. Smells fleshy with aromas of stone fruits, together with a little pink grapefruit and light citrus notes. It's both approachable and gentle, even as a young wine, but the balance for drinking now or cellaring in the short to medium term is absolutely spot on. Drink by 2029.
