2024 Bindi Kaye Pinot Noir
Bindi is one of Australia’s most respected small estates, producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of purity and finesse. The vines grow in a mix of ancient Ordovician soils and volcanic slopes in the Macedon Ranges, farmed with sustainable, low-intervention methods and intensive handwork. In the winery, natural fermentations, long lees ageing, and gentle handling capture the seasonal expression of this remarkable landscape.
Sourced from the most elevated vineyard on the Bindi property (with a stunning perspective over the other vineyards, the winery and the hills beyond) planted in 2001 on a mixture of quartz, mudstone and some volcanic soils.
Other Reviews....
Perfumed and nuanced, with aromas of wild raspberries, dark cherries, spices, wet earth, citrus peel, cured meats, crushed stones and beets. The palate is finely woven and mid-weighted, with a seamlessly integrated mouthfeel that shows mineral grip and fine-boned structure. Really delicious, with a savory undertone supporting the beautiful fruit and spice. Excellent. Drink or hold.

On the crown of the site, a mix of soil profile, and diverse in its geography, a few extra clones in the mix too.
A strong, muscular pinot noir, concentrated, deep, red fruited though, plummy and raspberry laid. Lots of spice. Quite a bit of sweet, leafy herbal influence. Chewy tannins yet a rosy outlook. Excellent lingering, red fruited flavours laced with brined green olive and clove. Tight. Tense. Athletic pinot noir, yet refreshing, and one for immense distance in cellaring. Drink 2025-2040+.
