2024 Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico

A youthful, expressive Chianti Classico with juicy red fruits.

Antinori’s Peppoli was first made in 1985 and year in year out proves to be a reliable, great value Chianti Classico. Produced from predominately Sangiovese grapes, the wine was aged for approximately 9 months in large Slavonian oak casks with a small parcel in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of fruit.
Dark red heart with black toned edges and a youthful bright red hue. Aromas of red cherry and red currant sail out of the glass trailed by some red liquorice, fresh herb, delicate earth and faint spicy tobacco end notes. Juicy red currant, cherry and red liquorice fruits line the mid weighted palate with notions of earth, fresh garden herbs, gentle tobacco and spice the undercard. Energetic acidity with a slightly chalky feel to the tannins. Savoury red fruited conclusion.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
