Rich, fleshy dark and blue fruits with slightly chewy tannins and a sturdy finish.

Fermented with 15% whole bunch fruit and matured in seasoned French oak hogsheads and puncheons. Dense pitch black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Dark plum, liquorice, vanillin spice, earth and blueberry aromas are expelled from the glass with ample intensity. Rich, fleshy dark plum, liquorice and ripe blueberry fruits decorate the mid weighted palate with scorched earth and vanillin spice elements lying beneath. Slightly chewy tannins with a generously fruited yet sturdy finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Yes, there is still a Butcher’s Block in the old restored blue stone cellar door on the property. I like this wine for its vibrancy and fresh fruit characters, and it’s been designed to suit drinking in the short to medium term. Has a nice plummy savoury combination with a little dollop of dark chocolate and fine dried herbs, slightly sage bush character to finish. It’s a complete wine, harmoniously balanced with fine, understated oak in support of the tannins. Sits together perfectly.
