2023 Turkey Flat Butcher’s Block Grenache Shiraz Mataro
Plump and juicy with a long seductive finish.
Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Drifting from the glass with plenty of authority are aromas of dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum trailed by subtle earthy dark chocolate and vanillin spice notes. Plump and juicy the palate is filled with dark raspberry, liquorice, ripe plum and dark chocolate flavours. Subtle earth and vanillin spice elements linger underneath. Velvet smooth tannins with a long seductive finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews….
$27 is extremely reasonable for a wine of this quality. More power to Turkey Flat for keeping it real.
It’s a solid red wine, bright enough, accessible and engaging, and with just enough creaminess to qualify it as smooth, or a frisky version thereof. It tastes of raspberries, vanilla, pools of plum, anise and sweet, earthen spice notes. It’s mouth filling in lively kind of way. It’s very tidy drinking.
