2023 Trenel Coteaux Bourguignons
A juicy Gamay with fresh acidity and a savoury finish that shows some spice.
The Coteaux Bourguignons A.O.C. was created in 2011 and borders on the entire Burgundy region, from Chablis to the gates of Lyon. Red, white and rosé wines and can be either made of a blend or a single grape variety. Trénel’s Coteaux Bourguignons is produced from Gamay with vines aged between 40-60 years located near Villefranche and le Bois d'Oingt on the characteristic limestone soils of South Beaujolais.
Dark red black tinged colour with a red purple tinged hue. Fragrant aromas of violet, morello cherry and incense mix with hints of earth, herbs du Provence and spice. Juicy dark and morello cherry fruits are complimented by anise, earthy incense, fresh herb and spice flavours. Slightly grainy tannins with fresh acidity and a savoury finish that shows some spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
