2023 Tenuta Tignanello Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva

A rich, expansive Chianti with a firm, muscular tannin structure and long robust finish.

Midnight black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Intense blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice aromas flood the nostrils with sweeping end notes of spicy vanillin cedar, tobacco, earth, dried herbs and spice. Rich, expansive and concentrated, blackcurrant, liquorice and dark to black cherry fruits engulf the medium to full bodied palate that shows ample flesh. A firm, muscular tannin structure imparts some gentle grip. Sitting in the background are notions of vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco characters and spicy dried herbs. Deeply fruited it has a long robust finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Medium to full-bodied, it delivers strong concentration in this vintage, with a fresh, vertical profile supported by vibrant acidity and well-defined tannins. Notes of Amarena cherry carry through the palate, with a warm touch of cedar spice on the finish. This is a particularly strong vintage for this wine, offering both immediate appeal and the structure to evolve over the coming 10-15 years. It’s composed of 92% Sangiovese and the rest Cabernet and Merlot. Drink 2026-2040.
