2023 Sentio Captains Creek Chardonnay
Long, elegant and gently creamed with an energetic feel.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. White peach and citrus aromas are trailed by biscuity oak, faint dried honey and subtle gun flints notes. Fleshy white peach, nectarine and citrus fruits show ample richness over a flinty mineral infused back drop of dried honey, biscuity oak and spice. Lively acidity lends an energetic feel across the long, elegant, gently creamed finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews….
Certified organic fruit comes off its name vineyard in Blampied, just near Daylesford, the wine made simply as in basket pressed, fermented on lees and aged in foudre, demi-muid and barriques, no new oak at all. A lovely, gentle wine in a way with light flavours of Meyer lemon, white stone fruit, ginger spice and creamy lees. Everything is just so; there’s a succulence across the palate with fine acidity energising, refreshing and mouth-watering. This will garner more complexity in time although delicious now. Drink by 2033.
