From vines planted in 1995 with maturation taking place in French oak for a period of 9 months. Pitch black core with a dark red black tinged hue. Aniseed and black cherry aromas mix with scorched earth and peppered dried meat notes. Rich, lush blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits carry an opulent feel and ample weight across the palate. Scorched earth, fennel and peppered dried meat ensue. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins lend firmness to the long peppery finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
