Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Generously scented the nose is filled with white peach, dried honey and crème brulee aromas followed by some bacon fat, biscuity nougat and delicate butterscotch notes. On the palate lively acidity underpins fleshy peach, citrus and dried honey flavours. Crème brulee, cashew and spicy nougat characters ensue. Creamy textured yet vivid and energetic it finishes long and elegant.

Other Reviews…..
The 2023 season in Western Australia was on the cooler side and wonderfully dry. This was on track to be an excellent season for both red and whites, but due to some late-season rain, the year was more favorably weighted toward the white varieties. However, as with all vintage assessments, nothing is ever hard and fast, so while some vineyards suffered from poorly timed rain, others faired dramatically well. Here, the 2023 Chardonnay leads with white peach and ginger, jasmine tea, spring florals, curls of orange peel and cracked fennel seeds. On the palate, the acidity is piercing but very fine and ensconced within the creamy, delicate fruit. There's plenty of ground white pepper on the back of the palate, with crushed nuts and brine. This is balanced and very pretty, and while it is a quieter iteration than the 2022 tasted alongside, it sits beautifully in the mouth. This is a lovely wine. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under cork. Drink 2024-2034.

Erin Larkin – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate

The beauty and pristine nature of this great vintage shine through in this thoroughly beautiful chardonnay. On the nose aromas of nectarine and peach merge with a splash of citrus and a layer of meal. Richer notes of crème brulee and lightly roasted cashew emerge from somewhere deep in the palate. It’s a finer style yet there is sustained persistence through the palate. A delicate chardonnay with so much character and style. Love it. Cellar 8 years.
