2023 O’Leary Walker Polish Hill River Armagh Cabernet Sauvignon
A sturdily built Clare Cabernet that’s rich and full with a slightly grippy conclusion.
Dense pitch black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Cassis, dark plum and toasty vanillin cedar aromas inundate the olfactory senses followed by some tobacco, black olive and spice notes. Rich and full, the palate is awash with blackcurrant, plum and mulberry fruit which is backed by a sturdy tannin structure. Extending across the back half are notions of vanillin cedar, tobacco, black olive, earth and bay leaf accents. Slightly grippy medium to long conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews……
Sourced from the sub-regions of Polish Hill River and Armagh. Aromas scream Cabernet: blackberry, blackcurrant, a little leaf, and syrupy dark chocolate. The palate is deeply concentrated, supported by chalky tannins and plenty of oak, yet perfectly balanced. Drives through to an extended finish. Tremendous cellaring potential yet delicious already. Drink 2025-2045.
